Jarwin Technology’s New Energy Intelligent Base in Guiyang has officially entered mass production, showcasing impressive “Guiyang speed” by completing its first lithium-ion battery production line just three months after project launch. The base integrates advanced intelligent manufacturing equipment—such as robotic stacking arms—with refined production processes, covering power battery cells and high-rate battery cells. Despite challenges in renovating idle factory buildings (e.g., drainage issues), strong support from Guiyang City and Baiyun District governments ensured smooth commissioning. This project not only boosts Jarwin’s production capacity but also exemplifies the synergy between enterprise innovation and government efficiency in advancing the new energy industry.

Walking into Jarwin Technology’s New Energy Intelligent Base in Guiyang, a vivid picture of intelligent manufacturing unfolds. On the workshop floor, robotic arms mounted on stacking machines move swiftly and precisely, grabbing raw materials with pinpoint accuracy to complete cell assembly; in the coating workshop, workers monitor and control the entire production line through intuitive control panels, ensuring consistent coating thickness and process stability; in the Formation Workshop, technical staff conduct rigorous capacity grading and performance testing on finished battery cells, guaranteeing that each product meets strict quality standards. Every link—from raw material input to final inspection—reflects the base’s focus on automation, digitization, and intelligence, marking Jarwin’s leap toward high-end new energy manufacturing.
What stands out most about Jarwin’s New Energy Intelligent Base is its remarkable construction and commissioning efficiency. Just three months after the project was officially launched, the base’s first lithium-ion battery production line was fully completed and put into operation—a feat that has been hailed as a prime example of “Guiyang speed” in industrial project construction. In the competitive new energy industry, where time-to-market is crucial, this rapid launch not only shortens the company’s product iteration cycle but also allows Jarwin to quickly seize market opportunities, laying a solid foundation for expanding its share in the power battery and high-rate battery sectors.
“The core focus of our intelligent base is the production of power battery cells and high-rate battery cells, which are widely used in new energy vehicles, drones, portable power stations, and industrial equipment,” said Hao Xiangwei, Jarwin’s Manufacturing Director. He further revealed that by May of this year, the base will start customizing finished battery products according to specific customer needs, covering both standardized and personalized solutions to meet diverse market demands. As of the end of 2020, the first phase of the project had already achieved an output value of 46 million yuan, a promising start that underscores the market’s recognition of Jarwin’s products and the base’s production potential. Currently, the base operates eight specialized production workshops, with subsequent phases of expansion planned to further scale up capacity.
The extensive use of intelligent machinery is a key driver behind the base’s high performance. “The robotic arms on our stacking machines are designed for dual-cell simultaneous production—each machine can manufacture about 1,000 battery cells per shift, and there are approximately 70 such stacking machines in the workshop alone,” explained Hao Xiangwei. This level of automation brings multiple benefits: first, it significantly reduces labor costs by replacing manual repetitive work; second, it eliminates human operational variability, ensuring consistent product quality and reducing defect rates; third, it boosts production efficiency, allowing the base to achieve large-scale output while maintaining precision. For Jarwin, intelligent manufacturing is not just a technological upgrade but a core competitive advantage in the fast-evolving new energy battery market.
The road to rapid commissioning was not without obstacles. The land for Jarwin’s intelligent base is repurposed from the idle factory buildings of Guizhou Jinfeng Wheel Company, and the renovation process encountered unexpected challenges related to the site’s existing infrastructure. Diao Sheng, General Manager of Jarwin, recalled: “Lithium battery production has extremely high requirements for waterproofing and moisture control. If the rolled materials used in cell manufacturing absorb even a small amount of moisture, it can severely affect the battery’s capacity, damage its internal structure, and even lead to safety hazards such as short circuits or conductivity failures.” Unfortunately, the industrial waste left over from the previous wheel manufacturing process had clogged the site’s drainage system—whenever heavy rain fell, the drains would overflow, causing water accumulation in the workshops and posing a direct threat to the battery production process.
Upon learning of the drainage issue, the leaders of Guiyang City and Baiyun District acted promptly to support the project. A special task force was immediately formed to conduct on-site inspections, assess the root cause of the problem, and design a targeted solution. The task force coordinated closely with relevant construction departments, municipal engineering teams, and environmental protection authorities to carry out a comprehensive renovation of the drainage system—including clearing clogged pipes, upgrading drainage facilities, and optimizing the site’s water flow path. Thanks to this efficient cross-departmental collaboration, the drainage problem was fully resolved before the production line officially started operations, eliminating the moisture risk and ensuring the smooth progress of battery production.
“The rapid and smooth commissioning of our New Energy Intelligent Base would not have been possible without the strong support and active assistance from the governments of Guiyang City and Baiyun District,” emphasized Diao Sheng. He noted that from project approval and land acquisition to addressing construction challenges, the local government has always provided proactive services and policy support, creating a favorable business environment for enterprises. This government-enterprise synergy not only accelerates the development of individual projects but also enhances the overall competitiveness of Guiyang’s new energy industry cluster. Looking ahead, Jarwin plans to deepen its cooperation with local authorities, continue investing in technological innovation and capacity expansion, and contribute more to the development of Guiyang’s new energy sector.
